i have a few niggles with my audi- i have 2 lights on the dash: ab

light & airbag light. the abs light does not register when i paid for scan, but the airbag light told the scan person it needed a squib i steering wheel. how much should these cost inc fitting with a garage I've been quoted £100, seems a bit of a cheek. the abs light, may b connected to a fault i had with the central locking, is it possible wires come off when adjusting the c/l? finally, the drivers windo doesn't sit at the top, it sort of sticks out- open along the edge. I only started doing this recently, is it simple to fix? I thought i cu pop the window & get an autoglass chap to swap the window- for my £6 excess, would this work?

This car does 35-40mpg & is a future classic, shame about those niggles..

jim howard ( snipped-for-privacy@autobanter.co.uk) gurgled happily, sounding much like they were saying :

The original 100 coupe - no, not really. The ur-Quattro shape coupe - no, not really. (except for the ur-Quattro. That IS a classic.)

The tubby mid-90s coupe? DEFINITELY not.

i read the banter regards the vw golf vr6 & the abs light prob. I thin mine is just a wire off- but will tell you the main niggles anyway.

i have 2 lights on the dash: abs light & airbag light.

the abs light does not register when i paid for a scan, but the airba light told the scan person it needed a squib in steering wheel. how muc should these cost inc fitting with a garage? I've been quoted £100 seems a bit of a cheek.

the abs light, may be connected to a fault i had with the centra locking, is it possible a wires come off when adjusting this centra locking?

finally, the drivers window doesn't sit at the top, it sort of stick out- open along the edge. It only started doing this recently, is i simple to fix? I thought i cud pop the window & get an autoglass cha to swap the window- for my £60 excess, would this work?

This car does 35-40mpg & is a future classic, shame about thes niggles, but hopefully not too pricey for a better car than the mor common audi A3..........................

£100 bit of a cheek ! thats a reasonable price. you need a lot of care fitting an airbag & you will need the srs light resetting.

central locking wouldnt affect your abs, more then likely a faulty sensor.

Or cable. If it really needs a squib £100 is a bargain.

If you're at all handy then Vag-Com is well worth the money for diagnosing these faults. The windows probably a sticky runner, try some silicone spray

The message from jim howard contains these words:

If it's like my A6 shape A100 then the frame is bolted to the lower door and can be adjusted.
