BMW 525 TDS (Diesel) 1994 Hard start from cold
When Fuel Filter changed car starts perfect for 3 x weeks then reverts back to Hard starting again.
If you remove the new fuel filter then refit car starts ok for a short while
Unable to detect any fuel leaks .
Check again- you must have fuel running back to the tank whilst she sits causing it..
Does the fuel filter body have a push button priming device on the top? If so the internal diaphragms often split and introduce air..

Vauxhalls suffer this exact problem, on those it is the spill pipes from the injectors, they get porous with age, a new set cures it every time, so have a close look, unless they are like new replace them, it is very cheap and easy to do.
