My 1984 Merc 280e sort of judders as it comes to a halt. No problem stopping, just a sort of grabbing as it comes to a halt. Any ideas anyone?

Does the steering wheel wobble at the same time? If so it's most probably warped discs, if not maybe the ABS is kicking in?

Will

No, it's not got ABS and the sterring wheel doesn't wobble.

cheers

Warped discs, just put it on an mot roller setup to graphically illustrate it

Can you feel the wobble through the brake pedal? If so.......Sounds like warped discs, or loose calipers.

Bill

SPin the disks against a dial guage , or if they're scored just change them & check the calipers are gripping both sides of the disk evenly.
