Brake piston scoring

How much is acceptable? None?

Are they a factors item or will I need to go back to a specialist brakes supplier?

If it's scored what's the bore like? Normally by that point the recon calipers cheaper.

Bore looks fine. I've already got a refurb kit with all the rubbers etc - it wasn't leaking before I took it to bits, but I'd rather not chance it. The scoring has mostly happened on the portion of the piston that's outside of the caliper, if you see what I mean.

Oh, clean it up with a bit of wet & dry then & it'll be fine. Make sure the mouth of the bores clean & smooth before you reassemble it or you'll bugger the seals.

Not something I'd like to take a chance on TBH. The problem is the practicality of getting a piston sharpish.

The bit on the outside of the seal doesn't really do anything, if it's not scratched the bore it'll be fine. Try your local motorcycle mechanics to get it pressure tested if you're worried.
