Hi, How can I tell if the cylinder block is aluminium or cast iron. My 1992 car with K9A engine was produced just as they changed from al. to cast for the block and they have different torque settings. John

Magnets don't stick to aluminium.
K9A? I thought the 1.4 diesel in the AX was a TUD3?

will see that the K9Y is indeed the TUD3 I also thought that all the TUD3 engines were alloy with cast iron liners. It was only the later 1.5D which was a cast iron block.
