Corsa Steering Vibration under braking

Mar 03, 2007 2 Replies

My 2000 Corsa B has started to vibrate whilst braking from around 50 -

70(steering wheel shakes slightly). Im guessing the disks are warped as it has seen some quite heavy braking. Is it possible to measure run- out of the disks using a ruller or similar? If its not the disks what else could cause the problem?

Thanks

Likely the discs, but also check tyres/wheels and all balljoints/steering bits. The discs are cheap for these, so unless they are very recent change them anyway. It is a bit of a chore to check for runout, you need a dialgauge and suitable holding jig to make the job easy, it is possible but hard to check runout with feeler gauges.

Many thanks for the reply. Will be checking steering etc today.
