Diesel CAT

Diesel gas emissions are not tested at MOT time. Soot emissions are tested. The cat is more likely to have an adverse effect on soot and engine performance.

Thought the whole idea of kwick fit and such was that you didnt have to book nor wait[long]

hmmm i didnt have to wait long to do it myself, but thats not the point!

When I had an oil change done at National tyres the first place couldn't do it (!) as their oil pump had broken (I assume they either suck the oil out through the dip stick hole or the pump they use to get oil out of the drum had broke). I had to wait at the second place for a while, and they dropped the oil out properly through the sump plug whilst I watched. Doing it yourself is certainly the quickest and easiest if you've somewhere warm to work and a set of axle stands, and don't live next door to the fast fit place.
