Effing battery

Still won't die. 9 year old Ford Focus battery that's been sat for a year while the car's off the road apart from the occasional start up and even after the cold winter it still keeps starting the bloody car. Previous thread.

Can't remember the last time I charged it but I suspect it was at the time of the above thread back in October. In fact I'm sure it was.

Seems to be no parasitic drain and no apparent diminution in the charge of the battery. I keep going out expecting it to be flat but it refuses to comply. This is most unFordlike. They usually use the cheapest crappiest components money can buy but their batteries are apparently indestructible. Could it actually have years rather than months left in it?

I took an undersized crap make battery of a Discovery 2, 4 years ago & put it in my shed.

I bought an old 90 with the smallest battery i have ever seen & it wouldn't do. out off curiosity I fit the larger one that was sat in the shed for years & not charged or even toiuched. I expected to have to charge it up etc. First turn & broom! Not an issue :)

My Puggy 206 is 5 years old and still starts perfectly on the original battery.
