How many MPG would you expect from a Escort 94 1.4i (CVH). Im avaraging around 25 - 30 round town, put some BP Ultimate in as it was all that was left at the petrol station, and got 39-41 mpg, im going to put some more in just in case it was a one of.
Anybody got any thoughts?

Yes, (f you could) junk the worse than abismolly crap CFi system. They're truly dire. This is the 4th or 5th "Cfi bad mpg / wont pass emissions" post we've had.
The pre 92 1.4 with Weber was streaks better and never gave problems! Fuelling wise anyhow...

I had one with severely worn valve guides and a sticky valve which admitted extra air, causing an additional flat spot. I simply replaced the 107 main jet with a 110. Problem solved :-) Can't do that with the CFI!
Performance and economy was quite abysmal though, I get similar MPG from a
2.0 16v cav now.james
