Freezy lock problem

Wonder if you used radiator anti freeze concentrated - in a spray bottle

- that contains glycol - maybe better than WD40.

NO!

Neat anti-freeze is pretty unpleasant stuff, so just from the H & S POV should not be squirted around.

It would remove all trace of lubricant, then dry up, leaving you in a worse position than ever. It is also an effective paint stripper, so as it ran down inside the door and pooled at the bottom, it would create a perfect environment for internal corrosion.

Of course, any that unintentionally got on the outer paintwork would similarly attack it.

It depends which one you buy, there's a couple of gallons of both here. The silcones just used for the overlocker to lube the blades, the gears run in mineral oil.
