Idle ponderings on cruise control

If you have a car with modern "active" cruise control of both the throttle and the brakes, do the brake lights come on when it's braking the vehicle?

yes they do, some will even pulse the brake lights and operate the hazards as you come to rest.

which is also why the cruise control is disabled if a brake light fails on some at least.
