Kangoo 1.9D shared by what other cars (head gasket)

Hi All,

Does anyone know what other cars use the 1.9 normally aspirated lump in a 98 Kangoo.

The reason I ask is I'm trying go to find out how difficult the head gasket is to do, and well, "Kangoo Head Gasket" isn't returning much in deja!

Following a large loss of water, the expansion tank is now bubbling away nicely. No steam from the exhaust (yet)

Course if anyone knows how difficult the job is please do tell. Are there any special tools required? Am currently trying to locate a Haynes for the motor.

thanks in advance, Gromit

Autodata list it as a 10 hour job, so not too simple.

The basic engine is in lots of Renaults it is an F8Q engine afaik

IIRC the most tedious part is the cambelt. However all the other bits are fairly tedious as the access is awful, it's probably easier to take the engine out.

Thanks for the replies.

There's no Haynes for the kangoo, so I'm off to see if I can find one for a megan or scenic with the same engine.

For the archive, the Required Haynes is Scenic & Megan to 1998.
