LED sidelights OK for MOT?

Well since dynamos passed away headlamps are used as well, if you've complied with the should you'll have complied with the must.

AFAIAA they are only to be used when parked, i.e., when parked facing the opposite direction to the traffic flow. if you are moving, the use of "parking lights" is classed as an unilluminated vehicle. As opposed to "running lights" which Volvo's seem to have (maybe amongst others) which are not a UK requirement. but as with all things, do have to work for the MOT.

That's just about the biggest load of twaddle I've read here! You couldn't be more wrong!

Go look at the HWC. You've clearly never seen a copy before.

It's available online; you need rule 113.

224: Cars, goods vehicles not exceeding 1525kg unladen, invalid carriages and motorcycles may be parked without lights on a road (or lay-by) with a speed limit of 30 mph or less if they are:

Yep, so that directly contradicts you saying that they must be used when parked facing the opposite direction to the traffic flow! You are not allowed to park the wrong way round at night *regardless* of lights!

[snip irrelevant quoted regs]

Why didn't you quote the one I referred to? You know, the one that says that says all sidelight are to be lit between sunset and sunrise, and that if the road is not lit so as to qualify as a 30mph limit, then dipped headlights must also be used.

Come to think of it, why didn't you know already that it is perfectly legal to drive on sidelights where street lighting is adequate? Assuming you are a licence holder, of course.

"loopy livernose" gurgled happily, sounding much like they were saying:

Does the link work for anybody?

That domain name hasn't worked for me for _ages_. Only the horrible unwieldy direct.gov addresses work.
