Or you may find a Proton 1500 exhaust manifold might fit - it is probably the same engine.....

I've just had an exhaust manifold welded.... much less hassle than searching and waiting for a 2nd hand one to turn up.

Don't ask me how he did it, but it's done the trick.

Did he take the manifold off to do it and how much did it cost? I can imagine it being a cast iron weld or a brass weld. pete

Don't know. I haven't had the bill yet - even that won't tell me much as it was part of a load of other jobs that were done.

I've welded them and it's been a piece of cake. One was broken into pieces and they joined together well, not in situ. The other had a crack in it. I drilled a small hole at each end of the crack and welded over the crack, also putting three or four stitches of weld across it to give good purchase and not rely on the weld along the crack. This was in situ.

I used an ordinary MIG welder with ordinary wire and with ordinary CO2.

That is interesting indeed. Is this a common weakness with these manifolds? I thought they were made of cast iron! pete
