Mondeo MK3 water pump

Got a leaking water pump, was easy getting the aux belt/pump pulley/pump bolts off but I can't shift the pump itself. It moves very slightly but only about 2mm or so. What's the best strategy? Drown it in WD40/GT85? Buy a large Stilson? Use an oil filter chain? I've not picked up the replacement pump yet but from the HBOL it looks like the fitting is circular so I should be able to rotate it rather than pull it straight out - is this correct? I've tried whacking it with a drift/hammer but it made no difference.

Thanks

Are you sure you got all the bolts out? I'm not familiar with the mondeo, but I know many years ago I discovered that the hunter range water pump had a bolt hidden between the webs, and covered in crap so it wasn't visible. Looking at the replacement pump was the clue.

Well, there are three and I got three bolts out... I did initially remove a "wrong" bolt that was next to the correct one, it's not easy to see the pump flange but feeling round it I can't find any other candidates.

In case it helps anyone else: Removing the RH headlight (a 60 second job) allows much easier access to the side of the pump.
