Problem with my old 1.6 MK2 Cavalier. It runs sweet, and pulls very well, but if you are moving at speed but not accelerating it jerks and seems to miss.
Checked all leads, plugs, new cap & rotor arm.
Any advice other than scrap it most welcome

had one of these once where the vacuum pipe to the servo had a crack, might cause similar problems

If the dizzy cap & rotor arm have been replaced & the car drives fine on full throttle then it does very much sound like there's a vacuum leak somewhere.
What, scrap a classic like that? ;o)
IIRC there's a diaphragm attached to the side of the carb which is prone to fail, also one of the float needles wears unevenly and tends to stick. The diaphragm is/was available as a separate item but the needle is integral to the carb - managed to pick up a new one (still in its GM box!) for about 80 quid, but it was a few years ago.
IIRC the ht lead to the coil (coil end) used to corrode for some reason.
SOunds like it could be a small air leak.
