Pug 206 steams up without A/C

Hi Guys,

My g/f has a 206 lx.

If you use the fan without a/c or recirculate the windows steam up. If you reveerse this then there is no problem. It does seem slightly ironic to be driving round in winter with the air con on. :o) No doubt it also munches fuel as well.

When switched to recirculate there is a very noticable increase in the quantity of air that is blown onto the windscreen compared to "fresh" air mode...

Is this a normal thing for 206's with air con or is something adrift somewhere???

If you have a pollen filter then it is probably blocked. You will usually find that demisting is better with air con on, indeed many cars turn the aircon on automatically on full screen demist position.

Your pollen filter badly needs changing! Should be done yearly, along with the regular servicing.

Thanks guys. Out of crazy curiosity, I have just gone outside and removed the pollen filter and low and behold problem sorted! Trip to motorworld tomorrow to get a new one... Easy peasy.
