radiator hoses :(

Hi all

I am struggling to find some radiator hoses for a nissan micra 1993 in manchester. Tried car accessory shops but no look, would a nissan dealer still have hoses for this age of car? , or is there anyway you can repair existing hoses?

thanks

Try proper motor factors rather than accessory shops.

The message from "Nige" contains these words:

Halfords used to sell "universal" hoses, which were actually not bad at all for this sort of thing. Provided you're not trying to replace a branched hose, or one with really odd sizes/shapes they're OK - certainly better than nothing.

I don't think you can repair hoses satisfactorily. Nissan should support this car, other manufacturers do older models. You need a good car parts shop and they can be like hen's teeth, Halfrauds and the other national chains just won't have the stock. A local specialist garage might also help.

Have you tried Werners on Hillgate in Stockport 01614806251 they supply retail outlets and are very helpful. alternately Dawson on Poynton Ind Est manufacture hoses and may be able to supply if you have a sample Derek

If you have no luck take the existing hose down to Halfords, the nearest motor factors & try & match its profile against a section of an existing hose that they have & then cut out the relevant section.....its worked a couple of times for me.

I.

Why don't you try phoning the main dealer? You may be pleasantly surprised.

The main dealer should still stock them. Have you tried your local motor factors? Accessory shops are usually pretty useless for stuff like that, unless you a focus or an astra or some other extremely popular model.

Sorry if this sounds dim but what is a motor factor? i know very little about this sort of thing

thanks

nige.
