It looks like Ford may have made a serious error in regards to the

From the (US) site: "A door latch malfunction can cause an unintended door opening. This can result in passengers being thrown from the vehicle."


Sounds like a good argument for compulsory setbelts in the US then...

An open door can still reduce the structural integrity in a major accident though the designs are now to try to prevent deformation to the door opening to allow the door to be easily opened after the accident.
