I have to say I'll take that with a certain pinch of salt from previous experience...:-)
Last point before I stop my grumpy old man lecture mode. No-one *EVER* got fired for asking too many questions as a new starter. You will get fired however for repeatedly asking the *same* question(s), as that means you are not listening, or not comprehending or just don't care. Take a hardback A5 notebook and pen everywhere you go. Anything taht you get told, write it down. It's the only way that you will ever remember or keep track of everything.
