Smokey XUD Xantia

Being a XUD. Mine (BX) squids beautifully when booting it. I did get the injectors checked out once - they were fine.

Is that from the driver's POV or from outside? If the former, I suspect it's probably black. If the latter, you could have more severe worries - wouldn't water from a knackered HG do that? How's the coolant?

Does it look like a haze in the following car? It's the donk running _slightly_ rich.

I'd like to write, "most diesels do that at normal specification." If it goes away as you give it less power, it is probably normal.

Sounds fairly normal for a PSA diesel. My C5 has done that from brand new. The BX I had was the same. As you say you only really notice it in the headlights of the car behind.

Yes, I'll go along with that. My latest Xantia TD was sluggish when I got it. It had been pottered round town by an old lady for years. A good caning over a week or so produced a load of smoke and soot and it now performs like my the one I used to have and doesn't smoke much, but all the PSA diesels I've had do as you describe at night - light smoke under boost.

Anyway, I have another £70 in the car now, I changed front and rear suspension spheres yesterday in the pissing rain.
