Thats why a said just slacken off slightly , most people dont have access to airlines at home

It's a bloody spark plug.

Finger tight and 1/8th turn to 'nip' it up.

Petrol engines dont tend to run without them if you snap one off it can cost you a small fortune to get it repaired all for the sake of fitting them correctly

Yes and incorrectly tightened they strip out , snap or completely seize in place

Your finger tight , my finger tight and any other poster will be different as will a nip up depending on the strength , size and weight of the individual. Thats one of the reasons they specify torque settings
