tesco diesel

Is it me or is the tescos' diesel prone to foaming up ? It took 20 mins to get the tank full this morning! I wander what causes it 'cause other people seemed to be having no problems.

It's never done it to me, but then I don't use diesel. Maybe that's why? ;)

It's you. I've never had a problem, have you been using cooking oil?

I find that at some pumps but not others. I'm going to have to map out the "safe" ones.

Sure you didn't go to the washer fluid pump? ;)

The antiwaxing agent they put in during winter makes more foam. I've noticed that the diesel in France smells a bit sulphurous but not like Sainsburys perfumed cat pee, doesn't foam and if I use the truck pump it fills faster and I get more power and better mpg. It might fill better if you ease off the nozzle trigger. DaveK.

Ive not had problems with their diesel foaming, just their prices being 1 or

2 pence/litre more than my local Shell garage.

I had that problem at a lot of pumps with my 205D until I figured out you had to angle the nozzle almost vertically to get diesel into it without foaming or the pump cutting out.

Try a small amount of Redex Diesel. Stops any foaming on our car.

You do know about the possible complications in an unmodified engine?
