So I wonder how well a dab of grinding paste would actually work?
This is very interesting, and I suspect that this product works because it contains thousands of hardened aluminium cubes. It has probably been precisely engineered so that these cubes bunch together/line up to form a structure that inherently resists deformation.
Grinding paste, on the other hand, would just consist of millions of non cubic abrasive particles that are free to move in their own "soup", and would not clump together to form any kind of resistance to being moved around.
I would hazard a guess that after applying this stuff, a few tweaks of the tool would settle these cubes into a state that would effectively fill the gaps with a solid.
