My car has picked up a couple of chips out the paintwork. I'm constantly lugging stuff in and out the thing and it's been caught a couple of times. They're barely noticeable really, you have to be looking, but I'd like to treat them with something to stop them getting worse over time. Someone has suggested clear nail varnish, would this do the trick? Are there any professional products I could use?

I've got some touch up paints which I got from Fiat (my car's a Fiat). There are two sticks, one which is paint that perfectly matches the colour of my car, and the other is like nail varnish. I've used the stuff, and if you're careful it does a pretty good job. It's not perfect and you will still see the chips, but I don't think there's much else you can do unless you spend loads.
I've never used nail varnish, but I wouldn't be supprised if it started flaking off after a while. The real varnish (lacquer) stuff is obviously designed for the job and may be more resilient against the weather. I think the sticks only cost me around =A35 (for both).

Thanks, would've thought they'd be more than that. I put the idea of contacting a dealershop at the back of my mind. I'll look into that further though as £5-10 or so would be fine.
Don't use a spray can on chips. I you can only get the paint in a spray can, then spay some paint out into a paper plate. Then use a small object, such as a matchstick to apply the paint.
