DON'T DO IT! I did this a few weeks back and no one will touch the tyre to repair it after that. Cost me £120 for a new tyre.

Depends which goop you use. Some are water soluble and can be washed off.
I used some stuff called Green Slime to fix a slow puncture on a Mini. It worked.
