What sort of money does a car battery fetch when traded as scrap ...(1) What does a scrap dealer give the owner for just the battery on its own?(2) What does the scrap dealer get when he sells the battery with loads of other batteries as scrap?

naff all I'd expect.Although I don't know the answer, I'd hazard a guess at "Not as much asyou might think". Modern car batteries don't contain nearly as much leadas they used to; the plates are much thinner and are often contained insomething (not sure what, I'm just going by what I had to clean up aftermy recent fire in which there were a dozen or so batteries).The top scrap money is in copper now. You'll spot the plumbers in theirnew cars...
