This isn't the $27,000 one that you test-drove is it? ;-)
Just the usual, I would carfax the VIN and have it thoroughly inspected for wreck repairs/mechanical issues and try to get a service history on it. The car is now almost 10 years old and has only been driven about
6,000 miles a year. This suggests that it was very likely not a daily driver. If the A/C was run fairly often, there shouldn't be any problems, but if this was a weekend-only/fair weather machine, then it could have potential A/C leaking problems waiting for you from the seals drying out. I have seen this on a few low-mileage/older cars.
Good luck, I like all 4 of the first generation "M" editions. (1994-1997)
Thanks Pat - it's offered at 9K so it's a tad less than the 06 I test drove! And BTW I made my husband test drive the 06 and he had two things to say: he loves the car, and he got leered at while driving it (by 2 women and one guy).
