201 RCA jacks in trunk .

There are 3 rca jacks on the rear parcel shelf inside the trunk. What are they for? Are they rca jacks for the stereo? I would like to replace the Becker and the speakers. Any suggestions for speakers in the rear deck? TIA.

RCA jacks . . . hmm, they're not the OEM speaker connections, so perhaps someone rewired the speaker connections. It could also have been the remnants of an older analog cellular phone that were installed in the W201 as options. As for speakers, 6.5" round can fit without having to cut into any metal, you just have to enlarge the holes in the rear deck. Flush mounted 6 x 9 speakers will hit the metal supports, but trimming them is not a big deal. If you use speaker "risers" for the 6 x 9, they will fit without cutting.
