The fluid reservoir to the 4 matic system is below the minimum level. Is it possible to use "ordinary" hydraulic fluid or is it necessary to buy the original (zh-x) form MB?

Sorry it should be ZH-M oil from MB
I hate to be the one to tell you this, but this could be a result of your transfer case leaking that fluid. You might want to check that out.
