The 1996 Chicago Bulls won 39 home games and lost two. When Mercedes' AMG hot-rod subsidiary sets up shop later this month at the Geneva Motor Show, it's going to think what that Bulls team must have thought when it walked onto its home court at the United Center: "We own this place."

Not only will AMG introduce a host of new models, including the CLS 63 AMG sedan, the CLK 63 AMG line of coupes and convertibles and face-lifted versions of its SL 55 and SL 65 AMG convertibles. It will also blow the doors off the exhibition hall with mind-boggling performance technology. ( Click here to find out more about AMG.)

For our money, the CLK 63 is the one to watch. Unlike the CLS sedan, it is a two-door model--one of the classic sports-car body styles. And while SL 55 and 65 models are already on the market, the CLK 63 is a new nameplate.

Moreover, it will blast the less-than-racy CLK-Class line back to life, mostly thanks to its 481-horsepower, V-8 engine. This power plant will bring the top-drawer CLK-Class model in line with the most elite two-door performance cars, such as Porsche's new 911 Turbo and BMW's forthcoming M6. The CLK 63 will go on sale around July or August in the U.S. Pricing is not yet available.

The CLK 63's 6.3-liter V-8 will use a new, seven-speed AMG automatic transmission. The car will have a new AMG sports suspension and new

18-inch AMG light-alloy wheels. AMG will equip the front wheels with a new, high-performance, composite brake system.

People loved to watch the Bulls' Michael Jordan because he was such a dominant player. He played on six NBA championship teams and is the all-time leader in points scored per game. To see a similarly overpowering performer, look to Mercedes' AMG brand at Geneva. Or just look to the CLK 63. Forbes Fact

Mercedes' base CLK-Class model is available as a convertible and a coupe. Although both body styles will receive CLK 63 AMG models, the American market will only see the convertible.
