oil filters on 1983 240D

I have a 1983 240D with a 4 cyclinder diesel engine and was wondering if asnyone could please tell me where the oil filter is located?

On the drivers' side just in front of the firewall. It is an aluminum canister with two 13mm nuts holding the cover on.
