Plastic Radiator repairs possible?

The upper (plastic) inlet tank on my '88 190E's Radiator has developed a nice crack and I need it repaired soon. BTW this is not at the hose connection, but further along the top. I have heard that there is a way to replace just the plastic parts on these rads without $helling out for a new one from Mercede$...is this wonderful thing possible?

I just used some plastic compound on my '82 300D. Gray color, but I will have to look to see what brand it was. Mine developed a hairline crack along the top just like you discribe. Fixed it about two months ago, still going strong.

There is a place that sell lifetime radiator warranty for your car... $199 or $179 for 1 year warrranty.

I have a part car... 1988 190E 2.3 with a good radiator... If you want it... I can pull it out for you and ship it. I'll sell it to you for 1/2 the cost of above new. Shipping shouldn't be much. I use Fedex ground for the cheapest rate. Contact me at snipped-for-privacy@optonline.net if interested.

John, You need a new radiator which can be had discounted from Auto Radiator Outlet 800-252-0333. Make sure you specify "Behr" like the original in your car. I paid $264 for a new Behr radiator for my '87 300D Turbo. Make sure you don't use green antifreeze or you'll need another new one within a year. Use the orange stuff that has no phosphates in it. Any Autozone store has the stuff. P.
