Even more Dynamism, Quality and Modern Appeal:

Fresh Impetus from the Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Stuttgart, Germany, February 2, 2004

With the new generation C-Class starting in spring

2004, Mercedes-Benz is significantly enhancing the technology, equipment and design of the successful C-Class four years after its launch. The newly sports-tuned chassis, steering and six-speed manual transmission make the C-Class an even more agile performer. From spring 2004, a four-cylinder powerplant with compressor supercharger and an output of 141 kW/192 hp will be added to the engine line-up for the Saloon and Estate models. The C 220 CDI will develop 110 kW/150 hp, thus making it 5 kW/7 hp more powerful than its predecessor, whilst the new C 55 AMG developing 270 kW/367 hp is the first car in this Mercedes-Benz model series to feature an eight-cylinder engine.

I just had my car worked on by my local M-B dealership a couple of weeks ago and they put me in a new C-Class loaner for a few days (with decals all over it advertising the name of the dealer). I hated that thing with a passion. And now I'm going to have to take my car back so they can re-do the work they screwed up. I'm not looking forward to driving another one of those pieces of junk.

I have the "older" 2004 (before the updates) C230 Sport Sedan and I actually prefer it to the newer 2004 versions. I do not like the updated dash and wheels.

YMMV of course.

I think the interior looks awful, why the hell can't Mercedes design a decent dashboard/instrument layout - it's not that ******** difficult (just look at BMW's, pure magic).

Sorry, don't like the interior - I used to have a 2001 C220cdi, interior in java and I loved the simple dashboard.

This one sucks and I HATE that 3 spoke steering wheel.

Me thinks MB have lost it.......:(

I dont really care for that 3 spoke wheel either. The new steering wheel button lay out looks a little cheesy to me also.

I much prefer the 4 spoke wheel.

If you look at the differences between the old and the new (example:the old wheels are now a $1300 option), it seems to be cost cutting.
