Hello, My 1998 SL500 has a few issues. First, the low fuel warning lights flash after about 10 to 30 minutes of driving. The OBD suggested a new gas cap. Done but it didn't fix the problem. Second, the dash error code panel shows 1100 on startup. It showed 1200 once. Third, The left xenon is out. When you turn the headlights on the burner flashes a few brief flashes and then nothing. I bought a pair of assemblies off eBay. The problem is although they are out of a.SL500 they have the balasts freestanding i.e. not molded into the headlamp housing. Anyone know what's involved in retro fitting a freestanding balast in this senario?
