source for W123 rebuilt CV avles?

ahoy:

i have a 1984 300D turbo that makes the classic clunk from left rear when i slow down after 30-40 minutes of highway driving. it has been doing this for a while now and i want to get it repaired. a local able mechanic can do the job. i was wondering if someone can recommend a source for rebuilt product instead of ~$500 each for new ones. i am in NJ USA. any reason i shouldn't go for the rebuilt on a car that is worth keeping on the road, but not worth more than $2000? thanks very much.

POE,

Oy. I click on "axles" and get a 404.

If you have access to a wrecking yard you can get good used ones. If you move them about 360 and feel no cluncking or grinding they're good.

Every online vendor sells new and reman units.
