OK, build quality, management and employment relations aside....
It is a shame to see the end of a uk-based industry that came out with what I think were fantastic designs:-
Mini - not much more to add to the Alec Issigonis masterpiece (and my first car) Rover P6 - maybe our answer to Mercedes at the time? MGB - would look good even today Triumph Stag - classy roadster Rover SD1 - stunning design at the time (1977) Metro - could never replace the Mini but still a creditable small car Rover 75 - it looks British and is worthy of the badge
i think the above (and many others) are testament to a fantastic history of design in automobiles.
it would be a crime for such talent to go to waste.
just think how it could have all been so different...........
