Where is the best place to jack the rear of the car centrally please? The x-member seems a fair way forward, and the diff doesn't look like a likely candidate. Anyone know please?
The brake drums need a puller to remove. The proper puller fits over the five studs. I did manage to get a front drum off with a two-legged puller, brute force and swearing, but it wasn't being pulled square and I don't really want to do that again. So, it seesm to me there are three options:
1) A three legged puller large enough to engage the lip at the rear of the drum;
2) Some home made affair that screws onto the studs;
3) A ready made tool.
The problem with (1) is that I am worried about cracking the casting if it's particularly tight. The problem with (2) is that I can't weld or use a lathe, and although I think I could lash something together that might work, it's not ideal. The problem with (3) is that we're talking about £200!!!
Any ideas please?
Thanks.
Paul.
