2000 Eclipse GT Engine Idle

I replaced the battery on my 2000 Eclipse GT and now the engine does not automatically idle up when I select the defroster mode on the switch that controls the heater air routing. The supervisor at the battery store told me that since the battery disconnected, the car's computer needs to be reset. He suggested that I drive the car around for awhile to allow the computer to reset. I have driven it for two days and still have the same problem.

Any ideas???

Thanks.

You mean "relearn" and he is making a good guess. I have a feeling the new batteryis feeling the load when you turn the A/C load up. It may go away in a week, or you can turn the base idle up 50 RPMs to compensate for the weaker amperage. One thing to check is the negative ground and make sure it's clean and well grounded. Dirty cables or a bad ground has the same effect.
