I have a '91 gt sl w/ 165000 miles. the syncros in the 5 speed are starting to get rough. I know replacing the gear box is in my future but until then, has anyone ever done the unthinkable and added some "slick 50" or a comprable product to aid in lifer support?

you could use a friction modifier but not slick 50 making things "more slippery" will make the situation with your weak syncros worse. try gm's syncromesh or b&g syncroshift. i believe mitsu dealers have a friction modifier that you can add to help this too.
