I Have a 95 Mitsubishi Galant ES Got Bad fuel to begin with. Car just quit while going down the road. The day before while driving it did it and pulled over it started but was real rough at first then leveled out no more trouble until next day when it quit while driving down the road. Went and got bottle of alcohol to dry out fuel put Octane booster actually too much booster, should have used 1/2 bottle but man at O'rielly's sold me 2 bottles said this is what you need I used one. Put 4 gallons of premium fuel in on top. Tried to start. It starts right up sounds smooth. I accelerate the motor it died and has been dead ever since. It had a vapor or fumes to come from the air element after it died, which quit. Now my brother opened up distributor and there is an oily residue on bottom of it,should this be there. Can bad fuel do this? Also he says it appears to have no fire on either side of distributor. Help! It has been very well maintained had none of these problems until this fuel situation Boyfriend got same fuel his quit him he let it set a week and started but it was still way too rough. He went got heet 2 bottles for both tanks, put in mid grade fuel and is now driving it smoking a little but apparently his is fine. My car is newer so here I sit.
