Eclipse tire Opinion

I need new tires. I have a 1999 Eclipse GS-T. I live in MD and I don't race.

Opinions?

Thanks.

stock wheels suck. they weigh 25 lbs. and are very prone to damage. you may wish to replace both wheels and tires as a set. tire rack and discount tire are good places to start. a 17"X8" wheel with +35 offset is about perfect. a

225 fits all day and a 235 will fit if you care to roll the rear fender lip up. i am on 235/45/17 with a 17x8 +35 wheel and life is great. are you looking for all-season? all-season tires suck pretty much all the time but will get you by. a decent set of summer tires with snows on 16" steel wheels works great, if you can deal with the expense. are you on the stock size fittment? 205/55/16 isn't it? tire rack has khumo at a good price:

the GS-T has a speed limiter in it's ecu that the GSX does not have because the o.e.m. tire is so crummy....here's your chance to fix that.

I have Tenzo R Rims. All White with polish lip. weigh pratically nothing. They are 18 x 8. I run Toyo Proxies TSI's (the tires are a little expensive to some, but I love the way they look, feel, & handle). They are the same tires used on the track but 100% DOT Legal. Tire wear is great.

I use Kuhmo's.

Probably the best you will find for the price
