Would you be ticked?

I'm the former owner of a dsm and would like to get your opinion on the following. I'm not sure if I should raise a stink about this or not.

When I had my dsm ('97 TSI AWD)I purchased 16" steel rims and tires for the winter from the local Bridgestone dealer. Due to an expanding family I had to sell my baby to buy a 4 door (maxima). Before buying the maxima I checked the winter rim size and to my surprise Walmart and Canadian Tire listed the exact same rim for my maxima as my dsm used. I was thrilled, until now...

I just went to put the winter rims on and have found out that they don't have the clearance for the front calipers. The garage looked up the part numbers and confirmed that my dsm and this car should run the exact same rims. Now, would you guys go back to the original shop and raise a stink? They did sell me rims that "fit" however not the "proper / exact" rim for my car.

Just don't know whether this is worth fighting for. It's only a couple of hundred bucks but it does kinda tick me off...

Your input is greatly appreciated.

So, sometime in the last six years you bought some rims, and have been using them for at least one winter. If this was more than, say, a month, ago, (which it obviously is) why would you expect the retailer to have to honour any sort of return policy.

If you bought some rims for a Maxima last week and find they won't fit this week, you have a case for return. Otherwise, you don't.

Sure you are ticked off that the rims don't fit, I would be too, but I'd get over it. So sell them to a Talon/Eclipse owner and get some rims that do fit the Maxima.

Thanks Stewart, this was 2 years ago that I purchased the rims. I just wanted some opinions on the matter, I am ticked as they are "supposed" to be the identical part number but I obviously wasn't sold the correct part number (according to my bill). I just wanted to get some feedback before I made a fool of myself, and I'm glad I did. They did fit like a champ though for that one season.

The moderators on ca.dsm.org haven't processed my membership so I can't post them on there yet (lost my old login info). Anyone out there already a member of ca.dsm.org that could post them for me? dsmtrader.com is primarily american but I guess I can try there.

Anyone in the Ottawa, Canada area want to buy a mint condition set of 16" steelies from a '97 TSI AWD (same as eclipse GSX)? All offers considered...
