Now we're getting somewhere

anyone care to tell me what voltage i should be showing through the old injectors under cranking??

Multi-meter shows zilch :) so think its safe to presume that there is something a miss there

although there is a nasty burnt wire next to the exhaust manifold i need to investigate.

All being well we might see the shed running again tommorow

Some part of the injection system not sending the squirt/not-squirt signal?

If the wire in question has got a friendly burnt partner like the one on my BX (1.9XU engined 8v GTi) did, it seemed to have something to do with the oil pressure gauge. I can't remember if it was pressure or level.

The plastic surrounding the 2 spades disintegrated in my hand one day when I was fiddling, the spades stayed connected. I disconnected one to see if it was important, it didn't seem to be.

finger pointing at the tachymetric relay :)

going to investigate this one tonight. figners crossed the fuglhy pug will be running for the weekend at this rate

Yeah...you're using a multimeter. The pulse is too short for a cheap digital multimeter to register anything. You'd actually be better off with an even cheaper analogue needle jobby because you'd see the needle twitching.

alas no

the 205 injection system is run on a permanant 12v supply with the negative feed being pulsed

hence you can measure the feed to the injectors with a quality multimeter. Thank you
