Getting cheap insurance on ALPINAs is a pain at the best of times unless it's limited mileage and a second car. :(

Going back to the Jap theme, had my first ride and go in a Civic Type R this evening, 03 plater my mate just acquired. By christ it felt mental. And, as backed up by the torque curve, they're not flat and crap at the low end (less torque than a turbo obviously) it's just they have so much at the top end... Jesus it was fun, *need* one of them me thinks...

The only real gotcha with the E34/M30 combo is the camshaft spray bar, or rather the banjo bolts through which the oil flows and it's unlikely to have got to 182k without the fix being supplied. They're heavy cars so a bit hard on brakes and bushes but even now not much will stay with one.
