American Hotrod.

Weekdays at 19.00 hrs on Quest.TV. The cars they build are crap IMO, but one has to appreciate the skills shown by most of those that create them. ATM they are building a complete car from aluminium. (or aluminum as they say). All except for those parts that need to be steel. Exhaust pipes, engine gearbox and transmission.parts etc. Mike.

Didn't they at least use an alloy block/head engine on the lumitub?

Yes, but I was referring to those internal parts that have to be steel.. Like the rear axle and diff housing was machined from solid ally, but the diff itself, drive shafts bearings etc, were probably std parts. and the propshaft is a special made from stainless steel finished to look like ally.

Mike Curtis, the machine shop guy, certainly knows how to design, programme and operate the CNC lathe and mill. .Mutch of the stuff he made for the alumitub are works of art IMO. Especially the front crossmember, door hinges and wheels.

Another thing about the prog I find amazing, is the speed at which they get things done. Mike.
