Citroen AX Overheating WHY??

Help Please.

Bought L reg citroen ax. Clean car, so dissapointed that after about tens mins of driving over heat light comes on. Cant find any leaks + cant take water cap off for a long while as water is under pressure and

overflows. When left to cool, take cap off, water down a little bit = tops up and drive for another ten mins and the overheat light will come

back on. No water in oil so hoping not gasket (worse damaged head). Wheres the water going? + why the light

Appreciate advise or experience

Tim

Check the thermostat, it it's stuck the water won't flow through the radiator.

If the water really is down a bit every time you check and there really is no leaks then you have a head gasket or block/head crack. Since the oil is not contaminated it must be going down the exhaust! The light because its getting hot?
