3.2 V6 - with that tuning company work over that makes them 3.7. And a turbo...

Unfortunately, I recall it was 'only' the 12v version. A 24v 'Cloverleaf' spec. engine would make it a real rocket :-)

Have you ever considered moving somewhere less pikey? :-p

Can't remember the last s**te old Sierra I saw in these parts.

less pikey! how dare you....... although i normally see them in basildon dagenham dustbin heaven :)

So, dooooooooooo iiiiiiiiiiit :)

Build yourself a poor man's Dino. Or how about the 5 cylinder turbo from the coupe? That would sound fan-spanking-tastic. I bet you could have real fun with the right exhaust system. slightly lumpy idle to howling snarl as the revs rise, followed by "Pttttsch-rumble-growl" on overrun.

Absolutely no bloody chance of getting a 5 pot in an X1/9. Not unless you were prepared to build a completely new rear end for the car from bits of sheet steel.

However..... you could do it with an Integrale lump instead. They will drop in without too many issues.

Alfa/Lancia/Fiat Twin Cam and Alfa boxer into Skoda Rapid.

Also Scooby turbo boxer into Skoda Rapid.

Bugger. They sound so nice. How about a steel Testarossa wide body conversion.

Hmmmmmm. Although I do reckon an Alfa V6 would sound better and more authentic.

a v6 sounding more authentic that what exactly :)

A fiarly nice but bit aneamic elderly heavy fiat twin cam 4 pot. It is about the size of a Dino, give it a V6 and it would sound like a Dino, and probably go like one too, but a lot cheaper.

It's quite the reverse on the road. Short gearing, lots of low and mid range torque - adequate compensation for relatively low looking headline figures.

Many. The 1.6 or delightful 1.7 Zetec-SE into the Ka is almost common. It's not quite in the same league of course, but then the 1.7 Ka works each and every time.

The 2.0 turbo ZVH conversions, on the other hand, well they have respectable reliability but need careful attention. With that much engine and poke in that small a space, any weakness in the cooling system leads to... much expense later.

The 1.6 turbo CVH Kas are just plain dodgy. :)

Ya I guess, but there's a height issue as I understand.

Never driven one so can't comment - although this been 'mods I feel as though that shouldn't stop me...

The clue is in the 'short gearing' - ie. the engine produces sod-all power, but we'll make it feel lively by giving it silly gear ratios.

It obviously didn't stop SteveH either...

(c:

Never does, though. Guess few people have studied (or at least looked at) the torque curve of the 2.0 Zetec-E? "Short gearing" is all relative, though. The mark two Mondeo's gearing is taller than our 1.8 Accord (20 mph / 1,000 rpm in top).

you mean you AREN'T going to fit a V6 into a fiesta to see how it works before transplaning it into a ka then?

I can't afford the Ford V6 diesel engine...
