The magazine itself, is, IMHO, excellent.

Lincoln, Leicester, whatever...they're both in that Engerrland place ;-)

Virtually every newsagent and petrol station in this area has it - and that's relatively rural Scotland.

Good read for a new Mag. Came out about the same time as the initial "RPM" from the Practical Classics team. Emap decided not to make another RPM, retro carried on.

You get about a bit (oo-er!) in Scotland don't you? Do you know the A70 (the "Lang Whang" from Carnwath to Edinburgh) ?

I've been driving on there quite a bit recently, for the first time in aaaaaaages, and I'm in love again. One of the most seriously underrated and relatively undiscovered fast (but challenging) roads in the country :-)

Carnwath - Dolphinton ?

If it's the same road then yes I'm quite a fan. most of the rural roads in South Lanarkshire, my working patch, have something to recommend them. Rigside to wiston is another cracker - never any traffic. Abington - leadhills - World class. I live in Cumbernauld and locally there is a road that leads from Kilsyth around the carron reservoir and eventuallydown to Milton of Campsie etc. The B818 onto the B822 as seen here.

This is actually and unarguably the best driving road in the world ever. No traffic, no speed cameras, sheep and cattle all usually fenced in. I can get up early on a sunday morning, do this circuit and be back home with the rolls and papers in around 45 minutes. Gets your sunday off to a great start.

That is a MK1 escort. You may be to young to remember when an Escort could actually be made to put loads of power to the tarmac, and was an international rally contender.

That particular one was a Circuit racer with a Rover V8.

I say was, because he wrapped it up between the photoshoot and the publication date.

The kit WAS fitted a long time ago, but only for approx 500 miles. It popped the gearbox in the Range Rover it was in... The Turbos are Rotomaster jobs, and absolutely f*ckin massive (I can see how the box blew!, They look at least the same size as T3 Garretts). Anyway, it is the full Janspeed job from ages ago, wastegates (and boy are they big old mothers), linkages, etc all present and correct. They'd go into the Sierra I should imagine because the turbos are mounted above the manifolds. It's the first time I've had a look at them in probably 15 years, so that's my excuse for a shady memory.

Anyway, I've s*it out of putting them in the Sierra, so they're still £500 if anyone wants 'em. Could do with a clean though.

I didnt recognise it because I dont really like MK1's (I thought it looked familiar but I was on lunch and didnt have more than 30 seconds to ponder it :) ), however I would really like a RS2000 custom, with a full roll cage and a cossie lump/V8 power.
