Righto! Got a Vauxhall Nova 1.4 with a Weber 32/34 DMTL carburettor and I'm having a bit of a problem with the float chamber flooding even though the float height is correct and the return line is plumbed in to the fuel line via a t-piece. The mechanical pump on the Nova puts out about 6 - 7psi which is double what Weber recommend (3psi). It looks as though the pressure of the fuel is forcing the needle valve open at idle and flooding the float chamber as well as seeping from any orifice available. Is there a pressure regulator out there that can bring the pressure down from 7psi to 3psi? I've had a look about and can only find horribly expensive (£70+) things that are adjustable which isn't really what I'm after. Looked on fuelsystems.co.uk but not much information is given on the products.
Anyone care to give advice?
Ta!
